54blue worked closely with the crew at The Gear Shop to complete their automotive store buildout for their new Calgary location.
54blue hit the rewind button and started at the brand level. No stone was left unturned as we collaborated with our client to deliver a perfect restart.
Like many new brands, The Gear Shop was founded with a lot of passion and not much money. From this starting point, critical elements like brand are grown incrementally over time, with little attention paid to the small details. 54blue stripped the brand back to its foundation and set a new direction that was sustainable and on-point.
Being hands-on, the owners of the Gear Shop wanted to act as GC. We knew that they had what it took to take on this mammoth job and execute the 54blue space design to completion. This gave us ample time to produce custom millwork and do some of the intricate site work that a historic building needs. The final result speaks for itself.
No space is complete without a peppering of print. The design team handed over the reins to our in-house print lab to put in the final touches. Print elements such as dimensional lettering and wall wraps extend the brand into the space, giving it an organic, welcoming feel.
With so much change being created for the image of The Gear Shop, we could not forget about its web presence. The new direction was extended online, lending support to the carefully crafted brick-and-mortar home. As an ever-evolving project, the new .com platform leaves lots of room for growth and monetization.
Trade shows and special events all need support and have to be authentic to the brand. We custom design all elements to fit, from apparel and accessories to tents, flags, and banners. The circle is now complete, and another iconic local brand is in the market.
We’d love to hear all about it!
